Patients admitted electively for the night, as part of a planned series of regular admissions for an on-going regime of broadly similar treatment and who is discharged in the morning. If the intention is not fulfilled and one of these admissions should involve a stay of at least 24 hours, such an admission should be classified as an ordinary admission. The series of regular admissions ends when the patient no longer requires frequent admissions.
