Adult Hearing New. Any NEW patient for assessment and intervention for hearing intervention regardless of referral route.

Adult Hearing existing. Any adult patient that we consider to be an existing patient whether they wear a hearing aid at all i.e. they would have been included in the New Adult Hearing pathway at some point.

Adult Tinnitus New. Any NEW patient for tinnitus assessment and intervention. New to this pathway.

Adult Tinnitus existing. Any patient that has accessed a tinnitus pathway previously.

Adult Balance New. Any patient referred for balance assessment and intervention whose pathway is being managed by audiology i.e. not on ENT list, may include BPPV.

Adult Balance Existing. Any patient that has accessed a balance pathway previously and contacts us directly regarding same condition. New consultant referrals due to a change in condition may be considered a new referral.

Referrals for any intervention ie hearing aids, tinnitus therapy etc. Referral start is the decision to treat date. Decision to treat could be made by an audiologist, ENT surgeon etc.

DAV

Diagnostic Audio Vestibular. Patients for assessment to inform a pathway managed by others; these patients will be waiting on an ENT/ Neurology pathway for example. Plus patients being managed by Audiology but who require additional advanced assessment e.g. patients requiring electrophysiology or non-organic assessment.
