Pre-School and School Entry Checks

Recording of Pre-School and School Entry Heath Checks provide:-

  support for clinical management and the care of sick children.

  assessment of health needs within a resident population for purchasing health care and for monitoring the performance of providers in meeting these needs.

  assistance in performance management of the NHS (including clinical practitioners) including clinical performance and quality of care generally.

  evaluation of the effectiveness of screening programmes and other health care interventions

  monitoring of the development of all children up to the age of five and for selected children, i.e. those with persisting health problems, through school age to adulthood.

  support for the management and planning of health services centrally and locally.
